GSAT -12 launched Successfully from Sriharikota

The Indian Space Research Organisation on Friday successfully launched its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV- C17) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, 100 km north of Chennai, carrying to space GSAT-12, a communication satellite.
The last time this configuration was used in the 2008 Chandrayaan mission that sent India’s satellite around the moon.
GSLV missions, the first with an indigenous cryogenic engine and the second with a Russian engine in the third stage, had ended in disasters
